Description
The choir was founded by the “Cefn Hengoed Ladies' Club” – a group of women who came together after the Second World War. In 1947, each branch of the Ladies' Club was asked to provide entertainment at a conference held in Wales.
The Cefn Hengoed Ladies' Club decided to sing a song and asked the then head of Derwendeg Primary School to teach them a song that they could then perform. This song was 'Heigh Ho Come to the Fair'. Since then they have formed a choir and still perform the same song.
Cefn Hengoed Ladies Choir is proud to have remained a community choir and proud to have had generations of the same family sing with them, each inspired by those who have gone before.
This concert is included in the regular visit to Talbot House.
