Talbot House's 111th Birthday Celebration & Opening of The Wipers Times

Friday 11 December – from 7.00 pm

Hip hip hooray! Talbot House is turning 111. Join fellow Talbotousians for a festive evening of fellowship, reflection and celebration.

The evening begins at 7.00 pm with a welcome reception, followed by our annual review, looking back on the past year and ahead to the future. We will then officially open our new temporary exhibition, The Wipers Times. The famous humorous trench newspaper of the First World War is brought back to life through amusing anecdotes, original stories and film. Afterwards, we will raise a glass of Wipers Times beer together and toast the future of Talbot House during a reception in the Concert Hall.

At 8.30 pm, everyone who wishes is warmly invited to join us in the Chapel for the traditional World Chain of Light service. During this reflective ceremony, we remember those who came before us and reaffirm our connection with fellow Toc H members around the world by lighting the Lamp of Maintenance.
