Free storytelling tour with Private Arthur

Join Private Arthur on an adventure this summer during a fun and free storytelling tour for children and families at Talbot House! Every Wednesday at 10.30 am, Arthur takes young visitors on a fascinating journey of discovery full of stories, secrets and surprises from the First World War. Tailored to children, families get to know this special house and its inhabitants through interactive stories and fun facts. An ideal family activity for curious children and their parents and grandparents during the summer holidays.

Open Monument Day 2026 “In Good Hands” – Story Tour: Talbot House volunteers through the years

This year’s Open Monument Day theme is ‘In Good Hands’. And Talbot House has, in fact, been in particularly good hands for decades: those of our volunteers, our very own Talbotousians. From day one, they have kept the House warm, lively and welcoming.
