What if you could watch a film about the First World War in a place where soldiers used to come to watch films during that very same war?

You can, because on Saturday 17 October at 6.30 pm, Talbot House invites you to a special screening of *Coward*, the new film by Lukas Dhont.

Set in 1917, the film tells the story of Pierre, who arrives at the front as a new recruit, determined to prove himself in battle. Behind the lines, he meets Francis, who tries to keep troop morale high with improvised shows.

A film in a historic venue

The choice of Talbot House’s historic Concert Hall is therefore no coincidence. During the First World War, Talbot House was a place where soldiers could find a moment’s respite. Performances were organised in our Concert Hall, allowing soldiers to relax for a while.

The world depicted in *Coward* therefore ties in particularly well with the history of this place.

After the film: panel discussion

The film will be followed by a panel discussion in which we will explore Coward in greater depth. We will be joined by Angelo Thijssens, the screenwriter of Coward.

The film lasts 125 minutes and the panel discussion 45 minutes. The event is expected to finish around 9.30 pm.

Places are limited, so registration is essential! Register via this link
