A stay in the guesthouse is not just an overnight stay, it is an experience. An experience, unique in every respect. Prepare for a historic stay, in the broadest sense of the word. Because admit it, how often do you get the chance to spend the night in a living museum? In a House that breathes history, where every room contains stories and the past becomes tangible. During the First World War, Talbot House was a favorite destination for many soldiers, a place to escape and catch their breath. And it still is after all these years. A second home. A home from home. Welcome.

About our Guesthouse

Spend the night in an authentic soldier's club

Be surprised, just like the thousands of soldiers and pilgrims who came before you. Perhaps you will spend the night in the General's room or discover the bullet holes in the plasterwork of the Berat room. Reserve your place in the Talbot guesthouse, be assigned a room, sleep in a living museum and fully immerse yourself in the Talbot House experience.

What can you expect from a stay at Talbot House?

The experience starts when you ring the bell at the famous white front door. You will be warmly welcomed by our British caretakers and you will immediately feel at home with a refreshing cup of tea. Then you can begin your exploration of the House. Visit the many rooms, climb the stairs to the chapel and be carried away by so much history.

After waking up, enjoy a delicious English or continental breakfast in the morning, after which you have plenty of time to discover the House and the museum. As a guest you get free access to the exhibitions and the opportunity to participate in the story tours. In the afternoon you can enjoy our famous Westhoek Picnic and after closing time you have the garden and the House all to yourself. At the end of your stay, Talbot House will also feel like a second home to you.
