Visit Talbot House

Individual or family visit

Open the doors to the past and enter a living museum. Tap the tablet and be guided individually or with your family through the history of the First World War using moving stories, amusing anecdotes and original artefacts from a tumultuous period.

Group visit

Join our passionate storytellers and relive the origins of the House. Discover together with our passionate guides what Talbot House meant to many visitors at the time and why it is still important today. Enjoy glorious history in a House full of stories.

School visit

Amaze your students with a unique museum experience in an authentic setting. Plan a visit with your school and introduce a new generation of young people to history in an original way through fascinating stories in an unprecedented setting.

Museum opening hours

The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Last entry is at 4:30 p.m. Groups visits outside regular opening hours are available upon request.

Buses

The nearest parking lot for buses is located in Hondstraat and is within walking distance of the House. Via this link you will find other suitable parking lots for buses in Poperinge.

Train

Talbot House is a 10-minute walk from Poperinge station. A train ride from Ypres takes barely 7 minutes. For more information, visit www.b-rail.be.

Parking

The nearest free parking spaces near the Talbot house are located in the Engelstraat, the Oudstrijdersplein, at Cultural Center Ghybe and in the Gasthuis parking.

On the first Sunday of each month, all residents of Poperinge can visit Talbot House for free upon presentation of their identity card. The Hop Museum in Poperinge can also be visited for free on that day.
